FIFA agrees 2027 broadcast deal in Brazil with Globo and streamer CazéTV

November 12 – FIFA has confirmed that Globo and CazéTV will broadcast the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, which Brazil is hosting, ensuring free-to-air broadcast across the country.

When no traditional broadcaster met FIFA’s asking price for the 2022 World Cup rights (rumoured to be $90 million), CazéTV stepped in, streaming matches live to millions across Brazil. Since then, its relationship with FIFA has deepened, with the digital channel covering multiple FIFA tournaments and connecting with a new generation of fans who consume content in non-traditional ways.

“Both broadcasters have demonstrated long-standing support for women’s football in Brazil, having played a pivotal role in driving audience growth and visibility in recent years,” said FIFA’s chief football officer Jill Ellis. “Their renewed collaboration with FIFA builds on this success and will help women’s football gather even more momentum in a country that recently celebrated a record attendance at the women’s national championship final and has seen its national team claim major honours.”

Fernando Manuel Pinto, Globo’s Head of Sports Rights, said: “The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 will be a historic event for football and for the country, reflecting the value the sport has gained in Brazil.”

CazéTV’s Felipe Aquilino added: “We have the opportunity to support the growth of the women’s game and broaden its reach among CazéTV’s young and highly engaged audience.”
